“I am pleased that the State of California awarded $39 million in transportation funds to our region, including $30 million to the streetcar project and $9 million to the Capitol Corridor. I am especially proud of the partnership at the state, local and federal levels that is delivering on transit for our region. The state is funding clean transportation for our region that will get people off our congested highways. These projects will make shopping, dining, lodging and entertainment destinations, including our new downtown arena, even more accessible. This funding represents a great opportunity for our region and I’m very proud of the work our government leaders have done to get us here.”
