There are 3 images in this galleryMay 09, 2012On May 11, Senate pro Tem Darrell Steinberg had the pleasure of meeting with more than 150 Californians to celebrate passage of his landmark autism insurance mandate legislation. SB 946, which Senator Steinberg authored, will require private health plans to provide medically necessary behavioral treatment for individuals with autism. The event, hosted by California Psychcare and the Southern California Consortium for Behavior Analysis, provided an opportunity for autism advocates, consumers, families, and providers to discuss the bill’s implementation and next steps to ensure that effective autism therapy is available to all California families who are overcoming this disorder.
