Yolo County Children’s Alliance honored.
By Special to The Enterprise
The Yolo County Children’s Alliance was honored Wednesday as a Nonprofit of the Year at a celebration of California Nonprofits Day at the state Capitol in Sacramento. The agency was selected by state Sen. Richard Pan as an exceptional nonprofit organization in his 6th District.
A nonprofit child and family agency serving all of Yolo County, the Children’s Alliance’s mission is to strengthen and support child abuse prevention services and coordinate resources that improve the lives of children and families, helping families — particularly non-English speakers — access services, learn valuable parenting skills and find support.
“To be recognized for the work we do every day to help kids and parents in Yolo County gives us renewed focus and determination to ensure all Yolo County children have the chance to grow and thrive,” said Katie Villegas, executive director of the agency.
